It's a great product but your business needs to have the budget to sustain it. Personally as a solopreneur, I have had to opt for a cheaper option as I feel the pricing makes it uncompetitive for a lean operation. So I would say perfect for corporates or established businesses, maybe cost prohibitive for a smaller bootstrapped operation

Having an industry tool that maintains a strong collection of data is important as well as the consistent product development as needs change along with industry shifts and the introduction of AI search.

Semrush provides a lot of data based on industry norms and provides the ability to export the data for further manipulation. The data is sometimes hard to manipulate within the interface and isn't always intuitive for marketers earlier in their career. Providing some guidance as to actions that can be taken would be valuable.

We use Semrush to identify what keywords to rank on, what keywords are our competitors ranking on, what to do to improve our SEO and SEM practices, track website traffic coming across sources (including from backlinks) and how to further improve them. The business problem it serves is it enables us to work our pages and content to be SEO-optimized.

Semrush is well suited for a mid-market organization or even a SMB with a good marketing budget and does not want to rely only on outbound but also on inbound to scale their website and content. It may be less suited for organizations that are startups, have limited budget or dont need to optimize their website yet for better reach.

Semrush was instrumental when we moved a large site over to a new domain. It provided us critical information on the health of our site during that process. It also allowed us to optimize our content to rank higher on search engines. SemRush is very comprehensive and packed with great tools that sets you up for future improvements on your site.

It's definitely well suited for anyone needing an all-in-one search marketing software, and it kind of became the industry standard for that purpose. However, I see most SEO pros choosing Ahrefs and more junior people or generalists choosing Semrush. Personally, I am comfortable with both software, have a preference for Ahrefs, but Semrush is for sure a good alternative.

The trend graph in the Keyword Magic report is confusing and should stay static (showing in Jan-Dec order no matter what the month currently is)
Most of the data is a day delayed. That seems to be more related to Semrush data sources than anything else
Excited about the Top Stories tracking feature, but it's not without its errors. Looking forward to improvements there
